Q. What areas do you serve?
A. Palmetto Childproofing Inc is headquartered in Fort Mill, South Carolina and provides service to Charlotte and surrounding areas. If you are unsure whether your home is in our service area, please call to inquire.
Q. When is the best time to childproof my home?
A. Ideally, you should childproof your home before your baby becomes mobile. Don't forget that mobility includes rolling, scooting, crawling, or cruising--not just walking.
Q. How long will it take to babyproof my home?
A. Most jobs can be completed in one day, depending on the size of your home and the amount of childproofing you wish to do.
Q. How much will it cost to childproof my home?
A. Two main factors determine the cost of childproofing a home: 1) the size of your home; 2) the amount of childproofing you desire. Most jobs average between $300 to $1500 which includes products and installation. After your home safety evaluation, you will be given a detailed written estimate--this will give you the best idea of the cost of childproofing your home. We will certainly work within your budget to help you create a safe environment for your baby to live, grow, explore, and learn.
Q. Do you guarantee your work?
A. At Palmetto Childproofing Inc, we are committed to customer service as well as child safety. Because we use high quality products and install them to the manufacturer's specifications, we are able to guarantee our work. If you purchased a product from us that we installed, and it isn't working properly, we will repair or replace it at no charge provided that it has been used in the manner for which it was designed.
Q. Do you charge for the home safety consultation?
A. The cost of having your home evaluated by an experienced child safety expert is $45. We will identify potential hazards to your baby or toddler, provide safety solutions, recommend the most effective products, and provide you with a personalized plan to childproof your home. The consultation fee will be applied to your bill if you decide you want us to do the installation for you. When you use our same day installation service, the consultation fee is waived.
Q. Can the consultation and installation be scheduled for the same day?
A. Yes. When you call, please let us know if you desire same day installation service. This will allow us to be prepared with the proper materials and to plan our schedule accordingly on the day of your appointment. The consultation fee is waived when you use our same day installation service.
Q. Should I try to babyproof my home myself?
A. Most of our clients prefer to leave the installation to a professional to save time, avoid frustration, and to have the peace of mind that all work is done correctly. However, some parents with the time, proper tools, and skills may choose to babyproof their homes themselves. Our affordable home safety consultation will assist you in this endeavor by pointing out the hazards, providing you with solutions, recommending the most effective products, and giving you a plan for making your home safe.
Q. Can I purchase the products from you and install them myself?
A. Yes, just remember that child safety products are only effective when properly installed and our guarantee only applies to products installed by our company.
Q. Will you install babyproofing products that I have already purchased?
A. It depends. Not all child safety devices on the market are created equally. We use only products that meet our high standards for quality and reliability. We would be happy to install products you have previously purchased if, in our experience and judgment, we know the products to be safe, durable, and reliable.
Q. Do you use subcontractors?
A. No, we do not use subcontractors. All of our highly trained safety consultants and installers are company employees, so you can be assured that your baby's safety is in the hands of qualified professionals.
Q. Do your gates work for dogs?
A. Yes, we have installed many gates for dog owners who wish to restrict their pet from certain areas of their home. Our gates are easy to operate and are sturdy enough for even the biggest dogs.
